CISC Complex-Instruction-Set Computer. A computer whose processor
is designed to sequentially run variable-length instructions, many of
which require several clock cycles, that perform complex tasks and
thereby simplify programming.
CODEC COder/DECoder
Color Difference (CD) The signals of (R-Y) and (B-Y) without the luminance (-Y) signal.
The Green signals (G-Y) can be extracted by these two signals.
Common Hardware Reference Platform (CHRP)
A specification published by the Apple, IBM, and Motorola which
defines the devices, interfaces, and data formats that make up a
CHRP-compliant system using a PowerPC processor.
Composite Video Signal (CVS/CVBS)
Signal that carries video picture information for color, brightness
and synchronizing signals for both horizontal and vertical scans.
Sometimes referred to as “Baseband Video”.
