SL4000 series is the first PCR portable with built in Bluetooth audio and data wireless. Here we will focus

on the audio aspect.

It provides standard Bluetooth 128 bit encryption to provide reliable communication with upto 10 metre

range using Class II Bluetooth and has an intuitive menu pairing procedure to pair with Operation Critical

Wireless Earpiece, Wireless PTT or standard commercial Bluetooth headsets.

Once paired, using a Bluetooth headset is easy to use. You can change the receive volume on the

headset either by using the radio volume up / down buttons, or using the local controls on your

Operations Critical Wireless Earpiece or Wireless PTT – it will update the radios volume and reflect this

change on the SL4000’s display.

Switching between the radio internal speaker and the wireless accessory is also easy. If the Bluetooth link

is broken (for example if the user turns off the headset), audio automatically switches back to the radio.

- If the user wants to manually switch (for example if a security guard has the earpiece pulled off them)

then a button on the radio can be programmed for “Bluetooth Headset Audio Switch” to allow manual

switching of received audio between the Bluetooth headset and the radios internal speaker.
