IMPORTANT: Under Storage Memory, verify the Total value is slightly larger than the In Use value.

The majority of file storage is done on the storage card, requiring very little storage memory on the MC1000.

7. Click [OK] (located at the top of the screen).

8. From the Control Panel on the MC1000, select the File menu >Close. The AscendScan Main Menu is

redisplayed.

Note: If the Windows

CEDesktop is displayed: Double-click AscendScan.

Reset the MC1000.

1. Hold down the power button approximately 20-30 seconds.

Note: The power button is the red button below the keypad.

2. When the MC1000/Motorola screen is displayed, release the power button.The Warm Booting screen is

displayed.

3. The reset is complete when the AscendScan Main Menu is redisplayed.

Maintenance

To prolong the life of the MC1000:

l Do not scratch the screen of the MC1000.

l Although the MC1000 is water and dust resistant, do not expose it to rain or moisture for an extended period of

time. In general, treat the MC1000 as a pocket calculator or other small electronic instrument .

l The screen of the MC1000 is glass. Do not to drop the MC1000 or subject it to strong impact.

l Protect the MC1000 from temperature extremes. Do not leave it on the dashboard of a car on a hot day, and

keep it away from heat sources.

l Do not store or use the MC1000 in any location that is extremely dusty, damp, or wet .

l Use a soft lens cloth to clean the MC1000. If the surface of the MC1000 screen becomes soiled, clean it with a

soft cloth moistened with a diluted window-cleaning solution.

l Periodically replace the rechargeable Li-ion battery to ensure maximum battery life and product performance.

Battery life depends on individual usage patterns.
