MC1000 Inventory Scanner -Options

Before using the MC1000 inventory scanner, verify all options are correctly configured. Perform regular maintenance

to avoid hardware issues.

Settings and Options

Verify the MC1000 is configured with Ascend’s recommended settings.

Note: By default, Ascend's recommended scanning options are enabled. Do not modify the recommended

AscendScan options unless instructed by Ascend Support.

1. From the scanner’s Main Menu, press [3] for Settings.

Found Item Default Qty: Recommend setting is 1. A quantity of one is assigned to each product

recognized by the scanner. If required, press [1] to change this setting.

Not Found Item Default Qty: Recommend setting is 0. A quantity of zero is assigned to each product

not recognized by the scanner. If required, press [2] to change this setting.

Allow Not Found: Recommend setting is N. If an item is not recognized by the scanner, the item is

excluded from the Scanned Items File (outdata.txt) on the scanner. If required, press [3] to change this

setting.

Press [0] to exit the Settings screen.

Adjust the volume.

1. Press [F]+[DEL].The Volume dialog box is displayed.

2. Press the up/down arrows to adjust the volume to the required level.

3. When the scanner is not active for more than three seconds, the volume settings are automatically saved. The

Volume dialog box is closed.

Adjust the screen contrast.

1. Press [F]+[SHIFT]. The Contrast dialog box is displayed.

2. Press the up/down arrows to adjust the volume to the required level.

3. When the scanner has not been active in more than three seconds, the contrast settings are automatically

saved. The Contrast dialog box is closed.

Adjust the program memory.

1. Open AscendScan’s Remote Control program.

Note: To open the Remote Control program: From the computer’s Start menu, select All Programs >

AscendScan > Windows CE Remote Viewer.

2. From the Remote Control program, click the Windows

Start button.

3. From the displayed menu, select Settings > Control Panel.

4. Double-click [System]. The System Properties dialog box is displayed.

5. Select the [Memory] tab.

6. Move the Memory Allocation slider to the left (near Storage Memory).
