OTA/OTAPA Programming

OTA, Over-The-Air Program m ing/Provisioning, or O TAPA, O ver-The -Air-P a ram ete r-Adm inistration,

program m ing is strongly recom m e nde d for program ming of all phones.

To a tte m pt OTA/O TAPA Program m ing, dia l: * 2 2 8 9 0 SEND from the phone (most

PDA/Sm a rt Pho nes have bette r succes s dia ling only * 2 2 8 SEND .)

Follow any p rom pts.

Up to two (2) m inutes m ay pa ss, a nd you m a y se e prom pts on the s cree n such as “MDN Downlo a d

OK” or “PR L Do wnlo ad OK”.

Whe n the pho ne has finished, the screen will typically display “Activatio n Successful” or “Program m ing

Successful”.

Assuming you get a “Successful” m e ssa ge, resta rt the pho ne . Som e phone s will re start a utom atically

when you press a ny button, o the rs will req uire you to m anually restart the phone.

If the phone is on a cha rge r, you will typically ne e d to m a nually power the phon e ba ck on by holding

do wn the END butto n.

Once the phone is po we red back on, place a test call. Once you h e ar “Your account is no w active ” you

can p ress the END butto n.

A screen will com e up ask ing for a Service C o de/ Se curity C o de. At that time, dial 0 a total o f 6

tim es.

The ne x t me nu should read “1: Service Progra m m ing”. Se le ct this o ption. The ESN will display o n the

screen. Do uble-check the ESN to ve rify it is the sa m e as what you gave us for a ctivation. O nce

confirmed, se lect OK .

The ne x t window will say “Pho ne Num b e r”. Ente r the MI N and pre ss OK .

The ne x t window will say “Hom e SID”. Ente r the Local SID for the custome r’s MDN and press OK .

The ne x t window will say “NAM1 Nam e ”. Pres s OK .

The ne x t window will say “Ba sic Program m ing Com ple te d”. P ress MORE .

Continue pressing the OK butto n until the screen displa ys “CDMA Directory #”. Enter the MDN a nd

press OK .

Continue pressing the OK butto n until the phone powers its e lf off and the n ba ck on (if the pho ne is

on a charger, then yo u will ne ed to m anua lly power the phone back o n by holding do wn the END

button). Once the phone is powere d ba ck on, pla ce a test call. O nce you he a r “Y our account is now

active” you ca n press the END button.
